Toxic emissions from a facility in Fort Myers, Florida have put residents at risk as they unknowingly breathe in Ethylene Oxide, a highly toxic chemical used for sterilizing medical equipment, with recent estimates showing it to be 60 times more dangerous than previously thought.
According to a press release from the FDA, dry shampoo aerosol products produced by Unilever have been recalled due to potentially elevated levels of benzene, a known human carcinogen. They include Dove, Nexxus, Suave, TIGI (Rockaholic and Bed Head), and TRESemmé.
