Fluoride is likely the worst ingredient in many over-the-counter toothpastes, but new research on the little known ingredient, triclosan, is proving problematic as well. According to a new study from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, triclosan (a chemical found in popular toothpaste brands) has been linked to multiple health concerns including colon cancer and the growth of tumors.
