About this Episode:

At age 11, Fiona Shakeela Burns was diagnosed with both leukemia and sarcoma. Her parents initially sought out conventional medical care, but when tests showed that the cancer had penetrated my bone marrow, only palliative chemotherapy was offered. Thankfully, she says, her parents would not accept the doctors’ prognosis and opted instead for a treatment known as Gerson Therapy.

In just over one month after beginning therapy, Fiona’s energy returned and before long, she was doing handstands in the back garden!  Twenty years later, she faced cancer once again, this time dealing with it with all the things she had learned.  Her remarkable recovery is both amazing and inspiring.
