It’s an honest question. On December 23, 1971, President Richard Nixon made history when he signed into law the National Cancer Act, officially declaring war on cancer. Fifty-three years later, we’re still waiting for the war to end, yet it seems to be escalating. Maybe it’s time to face up to reality? Even with advances in medical technology and treatment strategies, the war against cancer is, all too obviously, far from over.
Recent Research Has Shown an Alarming Trend
A recent Lancet Public Health study casts a disturbing light over our progress as it shows Generation X and Millennials have higher rates of 17 types of cancer, including pancreatic, ovarian and colorectal cancer. The mortality rates have also risen significantly. This data is particularly alarming as it directly challenges previous assumptions that cancer primarily impacts older populations. Instead, this trend indicates an increasing cancer threat among younger individuals.
Cancer Care Costs
The American Association for Cancer Research estimates that cancer care expenses in the U.S. could top $245 billion by 2030. With cancer rates on the rise and costs skyrocketing, integrative and holistic approaches for prevention and treatment make perfect sense. We here at the Templeton Wellness Foundation advocate for an all-inclusive approach to both preventing and fighting cancer:
- Dietary Adjustments: Prioritizing whole, organic foods while decreasing intake of processed and sugar-laden food products that contribute to cancer development is paramount.
- Detoxification: Implementing regular detoxification practices that help eliminate potential cancer-causing toxins is of equal importance.
- Physical Activity: Exercise can strengthen immunity and overall wellbeing by improving immunity and general wellbeing.
- Stress Management: Incorporating practices such as meditation, yoga and mindfulness into daily life to lessen the impact of stress – something which has been found to erode immunity systems and increase cancer risks – is one effective method for effectively managing it.
- Antiparasitic Treatments: Emerging evidence suggests that certain antiparasitic medications, such as Ivermectin and Fenbendazole, may offer promising benefits in the fight against cancer. (For example, learn about Joe Tippens’ remarkable recovery from Stage 4 lung cancer in this interview.)
The Templeton Wellness Foundation is dedicated to exploring unconventional therapies. Our foundation brings together a wide range of my research and resources on surviving cancer using holistic and alternative medicine approaches.
