SURVIVOR STORY

Cancer Survivor, Elyn Jacobs

For Elyn Jacobs, cancer is not a disease, but a message, a symptom of something deeper manifesting in your body.  In 2007, when Jacobs received her first cancer diagnosis, Stage I Breast Cancer, she had a bilateral mastectomy. Doctors told her there was virtually no chance of the cancer returning. In 2014, she discovered it once again, this time at Stage III. Virtually “no chance of returning” had turned into coming back with a vengeance.

In this video, Jacobs talks with fellow cancer survivor James Templeton about the importance of addressing the root cause of cancer, something she says her doctors neglected the first time around. For Jacobs, that cause was an emotional trauma, the resolution of which she credits for her survival. In her case, she felt that cancer was simply a symptom of thick, backlogged pain.  In addition to emotional healing, Jacobs talks about the dietary and lifestyle changes she made, including supplementation and intermittent fasting. The two also go over the importance of having a supportive community who can enjoy and invest in healthy living alongside you, as well as when strict living is too strict or not strict enough.
